Science "Fair" Projects
Frankly I don't think they really teach science. Because lots of times students do stuff thats really easy. They don't teach you really anything. Only one specific answer to the one question you asked, I think they aren't necessary and we shouldn't be forced to do them just to get a good grade.

Thanks for the post. As teachers, we are more concerned with students actually learning a CONCEPT rather than just enough to pass the test or to "get by". If students take the time, they will learn concepts and ideas that are life long. Science fair projects teach you how to process information, document data, and improves your critical thinking skills.
